Loved staying at Jarnvagshotellet! Impeccably clean - with beautiful antique charm. The location couldn't be better - just across from the train station. Staff provided excellent communication - making check-in a breeze. And the breakfast buffet was a true taste of Sweden - with a great selection of food!
Strongly recommend.

The hotel provided a warm and welcoming environment for children, with a designated play area filled with fun and interactive toys. Our little ones absolutely loved playing there, keeping themselves entertained for hours. The staff was also extremely friendly towards the children, making them feel special and included throughout our stay. It was wonderful to see them enjoying themselves so much.
My wife says that it would have been even better if there were more options for children's meals on the menu.

For the price I paid, I was pleasantly surprised by the value I got at this budget hotel. The room was nice and just the right size for two people. The location couldn't have been better, right in front of the railway station and close to the city centre. The staff treated me very well, they were incredibly friendly and always available to assist whenever I needed them.
The hotel breakfast menu could have been improved with a wider selection of options.

Great location near the train station, making it super convenient for exploring the city. Loved the cozy and charming interior of the hotel, it had a unique and artsy vibe. the beds were comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. the shared toilets and bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. Free coffee and tea in the lounge was a nice touch. a reasonably priced hotel that offered a pleasant and comfortable stay.
The breakfast was a bit of a letdown. There wasn't a wide variety of options and some of the food didn't taste fresh.

Stortorget is a short walk away, free breakfast with endless coffee, and a cozy library in the corridors. I felt like a detective in an old novel!
Who needs soundproofing? It's simply delightful to hear every door slam and noisy chat from the hallway.

I had the pleasure of staying at a charming hotel in Gävle recently. The room was cozy and clean, providing the perfect size for my companion and me. The hotel's location near the train station made it incredibly convenient for our travels. Even better, the staff communicated promptly and effectively, ensuring a smooth check-in process. And let's not forget the highlight of our stay - the amazing traditional Swedish breakfast buffet. The wide range of delicious options truly captured the essence of Swedish cuisine. I had a delightful experience at this hotel.
While my stay was overall enjoyable, I did encounter a couple of minor inconveniences. The shared amenities, although not a significant issue during my short stay, may not be everyone's preference, especially when it comes to nighttime bathroom visits.

I recently stayed at a hotel in Gävle for a short trip. The location of this hotel was perfect, right in front of the central station. The staff, both at check-in and check-out, were very nice and helpful. The single room I stayed in was surprisingly big and well equipped, with a small kitchenette for coffee or tea. I loved the cozy and clean atmosphere of the room, and the breakfast offered a delicious selection of traditional Swedish food. The hotel itself was comfortable and easy to navigate.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

With our four children under 12 years old, our visit to Jarnvagshotellet was an absolute delight. The hotel provided a well-stocked playroom complete with a variety of toys, ensuring endless entertainment for our little ones. They couldn't get enough of the colorful building blocks and the exciting game of musical chairs. The friendly staff was always on hand to assist and engage with our children, making them feel welcome and ensuring their stay was truly memorable.
In my wife's opinion, it would be great if the hotel could offer a small outdoor playground for the children.
